An unusual Venetian mirror retaining an engraved mirror plate featuring an allegorical female figure, probably Diana.
Unlike most engraved decoration typically encountered on Venetian mirrors of the period, the present engraving possesses a very expressive and hand-drawn quality, closely resembling the style of Northern European engravings of the late 16th and early 17th centuries in the manner of artists such as Hendrick Goltzius and Jan Muller.
