Dealers Comment....
I spotted this linen press tucked away at an antiquities sale, sitting rather awkwardly in the corner amongst a group of old clocks. Much to the confusion of my antiquity loving travelling companion - I immediately made a beeline straight for it.
Upon closer inspection it was obvious this was not only one of the most visually striking pieces of furniture I’d seen in a long time, but also one of the highest quality.
The craftsmanship is superb and the whole thing feels quintessentially English.
It’s the sort of antique piece that looks just as good as the only antique in the room as it does surrounded by others in a classical interior or even shoved in the corner of an old clock sale.
