Set of Eight Italian Baroque Style Chairs

The most wonderful set of eight chairs retaining their original lacquered surface, upholstered in unique verdure tapestry from the 17th century. The panels were clearly chosen specifically for the chairs and each depicts animals within woodland landscapes.
These chairs originally formed part of the grand interior of an Italian palazzo, illustrated in the historic photograph attached.

These are just magic. Verdure tapestry is such a glorious fabric and I’ve rarely seen it so well chosen and used across a full set like this.
More often it’s offcuts or damaged fragments applied to furniture, but here the selection feels entirely purposeful - which makes the set feel particularly special..
