A Set of 12 Broccatello Di Siena Floor Tiles

Each roughly 26cm square, hewn from richly veined slabs of Broccatello di Siena. The deep purple and ochre tones are characteristic of early quarrying in the hills around Siena, famously used for the marble pavements of the Siena Duomo. Comparable material from Monatarrenti, near Sovicille, is preserved in the Museo di Rilevanza Regional della Provincia Senese.
